ABOUT US

The principal owner of Sunrise Kiwi Packing and Kullar Farms is Jasbir Kullar.  Jasbir migrated to the United States of America during the mid 1970’s and spent most of his first 15 years in the USA as a migrant farm worker.  In 1990, he got the opportunity to lease 4 acres of kiwifruit and quickly became passionate about all of the intricacies of the fruit.  He slowly grew and diversified the operation and currently farms kiwifruit, sugar plums, and english walnuts.  

In 1999, Jasbir decided to take on his own packing and cold storage operation, and thus Sunrise Kiwi Packing went into operations.  Today, Sunrise Kiwi Packing is one of the largest California grown kiwifruit handlers in Northern California and Jasbir has become one of the largest kiwifruit growers in the state.

While Jasbir handles most of the field operations (run through Kullar Farms), David Barry manages and overseas the packing operation.  David has been with Sunrise Kiwi Packing since the beginning and has nearly 30 years of experience managing fresh fruit packing operations in the area. Together, the two of them bring the expertise needed to grow and pack kiwis and sugar plums.
